Elon takes heat for helping cut costs, liberals attack
Elon departs his assignment after setting the DOGE organization up and illustrating Government waste and fraud.
Both Elon and Trump want more cuts in bill.
If Trump comes out and says that it is counter productive. Trump has to play somewhat nice to get votes for the bill.
Elon doesn't have to play nice AND gets the Libs off his butt. This helps get more things codified.
After dust settles they make up. Mission accomplished.

If we had even one functioning political party, Congress would be way more productive. 

The majority of Americans believe it's possible to reduce the debt without raising taxes, or cutting social security, Medicare, or defense. And for their part the majority of Democrats believe it's possible to reduce the deficit while only raising taxes and increasing spending.

If you get close to political power, there are really only two choices. You can play along with the people's delusions, and stay on the stage for a long time, or you can tell them the truth and get booed off.

Not increasing spending is not a cut.  Baseline budgeting is what got us into this mess.

Actually, there is more than enough tax money. (If used properly and not stolen)

Pass legislation requiring the CBO to show their formulas and work. Also, rotate employment there. Transparency is key here as it is a tool we need. They overestimated the effect of the first Trump tax cuts and underestimated the effect of Biden spending. This shows they are a political entity and of little use to the congress or the people.

Eliminate the waste and fraud from entitlement programs.
Add the work requirements for able bodied people to receive.

Establish a modest tariff rate on non essential industries. (10-20%)
Establish a penalizing rate on essential industries. (steel,Aluminum, etc)
This is a usage tax. It will give everyone the option of buying a domestic product or paying more for one imported. The rich will be the ones opting for the latter and therefore pay more of the tax. They also consume more resulting in the same.

All entitlement programs are to be rolled back to pre-covid levels. Covid is over.
Legal Aliens that have contributed to the entitlement programs get benefits in line with their contributions to them.
Illegal aliens get no benefits from entitlement programs.
Illegal aliens are deported. 
Illegal aliens can go quietly where they can get in line. or if we need to go to court to deport them they are banned permanently from entry into the US..
Those seeking asylum still go. If they do not wish to return to their country they have many to pick from...choose. Kind of like the song. "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here"

Teachers need to teach. They have no right to discuss sexuality with adolescents. If you have the need to talk to an adolescent about sexuality you are not a teacher you are a predator and should be treated as such. 

No school may admit a "guest student" without the approval and vetting by the State department. Those schools found being funded by foreign governments lose all accreditation.

1) tariffs are a tax, you just called for a tax increase, Yes, kind of like the lottery. The lottery is also a tax. A voluntary tax. If you do not play it it doesn't affect you. The same is true of imported goods.
2) none of that adds up to enough to balance the budget. Yes it does. you are incorrect. More than half of the current 2 trillion dollar operating deficit we are running is due to money for illegal aliens. The rest are related to fraud, corruption, government bloat, over regulation.

I didn't say that there wasn't fraud and abuse. I said that it doesn't add up to 1 trillion dollars per year. 
It's not even close.
It's tens of billions of dollars, maybe more than a  hundred, but it's not a trillion.

Your confusing improper payments with fraud and abuse. They recovered about 7.1 billion last year in improper payments, The inspector gereral estimated it at about 600 billion 4 or 5 years ago. Add the temporary expanded benefits due to COVID and the money laundering schemes some states are running now and it just may exceed the trillion.
