Everyone who voted for Joe is in a cult? A "cult" is typcially a small organization or gathering centered around secret knowledge that only the initiated have. Freemasons are a cult. Mormons are a cult. Or a cult could just be a new, extreme, group that isolates itself and its members. When was the secret initiation ritual for Biden voters? When did we pledge our lives to him? When did we promise to cut ourselves off from all our former contacts? Did I miss it?
You ate.. all that damn dookie that the dems fed you and in the end, you look foolish as hell lololololololol
But.. it doesn't stop there.. You went back for seconds AND thirds lolol
It's like you pulled right on up to The Golden Corral of Dookie, eased right into your customer of the month parking space, got out, hungry as hell and went in and have gorged yourself for the last 8+ years..

That's a load of doodoo.
Journalists compete with each other and that is the accountability.
What other accountability could they have?
Either you're an idiot without 2 brain cells to rub together or you have not been paying attention (maybe a little of both) Turn on any newscast or read any newspaper from the lame stream legacy media and you'll notice that they ALL USE the same phrases and terminology as each other. It's like every editor, writer, and producers have a ZOOM MEETING every morning to decide on the BUZZ WORD of the day to attack Trump....... Even Democrats politicians use the same phrases and terminology when attacking Trump and conservatives in general........ It scares me to HELL and back that people like you actually vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What if I turn on X, or Fox News, or AM radio?
These are all outlets that compete against what you call the lame stream legacy media. And they often win.
That is what competition looks like, and it holds journalists accountable.
And even if you don't think that's enough, what do you propose?
Biden's DEI keeps putting communities in danger.......
City's Emergency Chief Blasted as DEI Hire After 'They/Them' Left Tornado Siren Off During Deadly St. Louis Storms
It’s like Los Angeles Fire Department Assistant Chief Kristine Larson all over again.
You may remember Larson as the face of how wokeness, among many other things, crippled Southern California’s ability to respond to the cataclysmic wildfires that swept through Los Angeles and its suburbs early this year. Larson, who worked in the “Equity and Human Resources Bureau” at the LAFD and took home a salary in the mid-six figures, infamously mocked people who said women who didn’t meet the same physical requirements as men might be a danger as firefighters.
“‘You couldn’t carry my husband out of a fire.’ Which, my response is, he got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”

Do you really want to know why they win? I'll tell you.... Because with the new media out there each individual writer, journalist, pod caster or whoever put's their OWN TAKE on whatever issue that they are responding to, they do not repeat the same phrases or buzz words like a talking parrot that these so called journalist in the legacy media seem to do........ That's why the alternative media wins those battles and why people have lost faith and trust in the old media.....

There are two ways to win.
One is get more advertising dollars and subscriber or benefactor money, which is pretty easy to measure.
The other is get more people believing what you say, which is harder to measure. All outlets are competing on both fronts all the time.

The issue with his statement can be a number of things.
a) He does not understand the industry. That is an educational problem.
b) He thinks if he makes a strong statement and assumes everyone will take it as a fact. That is a mental problem.
c) He is purposely being obtuse.
Assuming A
Reporters are writers that are paid to write, broadcasters are attractive people that are paid to read teleprompters. Both take direction writers from editors, broadcasters from producers. The editors and broadcasters in turn take direction from the executives in the organization. (Also the legal department has a say) The writers, broadcasters, editors and producers that do not comply are replaced with some that do. What you see/hear daily is the opinion of the organization. Also, what is actually covered is just that as some outlets will just ignore things. Yes there is accountability, but it is to the organization, not to you or the public. Bottom line it is to the paycheck they receive. That is why I actually listen/read multiple sources. (some that may surprise you) Independent writers, journalist and broadcasters, just don't get coverage, air time or published if they do not comply.
Through stock ownership unfortunately there are only a couple voices in the legacy media. On one side you have Fox, basically the rest if you are industrious enough to sort through the myriad of companies you will find are on the left.

So, to summarize, journalistic accountability, for you, is measured by profitability and success in influencing public perception. Factual accuracy has become a non-factor, yet you still see nothing wrong with this evolution.

OK you want to get nitpicky, sure.
For the purposes of my statement, "the management at ABC News" is a journalist, and so is "the management at Fox News."
They compete with each other.
That holds them accountable.
What other way could they ever be "held accountable"?

I didn't say "influence public perception". I said "get them to believe what you say is true." Journalism is about facts. Factual accuracy is the best way to get people to believe what you say, so it's a huge factor, but it's not the strategy everyone uses.
"Influence public perception" is more about opinions, and the people who do that are called "pundits" not journalists. There is overlap of course which is confusing and dangerous. Some people go in to journalism as an entry into becoming a pundit.
Lol, modern "mainstream" journalism is about rage baiting and spreading propaganda for the clicks. Any thought that it's about integrity or truth is delusional.

A lot of it is that way.
Why?
Because they are trying to make money and competing for our attention.
That competition holds them accountable.
There are still facts that are worth reporting though, and many reporters do report them, even though there is also a lot of distraction and nonsense out there.
No one has answered my question about any other way we can hold a dishonest press accountable.
The only way is to make sure there are opportunities for new outlets to come and compete, and we do that.
What else can we do? What else should we do?
