OK, I always buy a flat of 30 eggs to last me a few weeks, and last January I was paying like $18 for the flat. I picked up a flat of 30 eggs yesterday (7/3) and they were $7.99....... SO if anyone tries to tell me that Trump isn't doing what he said he would do, well, I'll [BLEEP] SLAP them so hard they'll think they're Linda Blair in the Exorcist.............

The Medicaid cuts are big and states and hospitals will have hard choices. Not many people will lose insurance, but the number of providers that accept Medicaid is likely to go down in many places.
There are ways to cut the bloat, rent seeking, and vulture capitalism in medical care but they require careful thought and hard choices. This bill defers those choices to the states. But that's kind of how Medicaid has always worked anyways. The Feds need to take a harder look at the incentive structures around Medicare, I think, to cut the spending without cutting the care.
They should have closed some tax loopholes, also.
First no pork in there. The parliamentarian would have x'd it out immediately. Also every penny of pork would have been identified by the democrats and multiplied by infinity. LOL
Next during COVID the Feds upped the ratio of 9 fed dollars to 1 state dollar. This was reduced to almost pre-covid. That means all the rural hospitals are actually in better shape payment wise than before COVID. They are ok as long as they do not try to cover illegal alien costs with fed dollars.
A cap of the "special" tax states could charge providers for medicare and medicaid. This and the 9 to 1 pay ratio above is how New York, Minnesota and New York (and a few other blue states) were paying for illegal benefits.
I am unsure it is still in there but those states that remove the asset test for seniors to qualify for Medicaid (not Medicare) get a lot less money. What was occurring was an elderly senior could get Medicaid even though they were multi millionaires. (remember the "special" tax above....
is a 900+ page bill slugging through it just like I did a Democrat one earlier. Yea I should get out more often I know.
I define pork as unnecessary spending. One year from now the national debt will be greater than it is today. No different from the last time Trump pushed through a BBB.
